Business Development Director, Flight Systems The Business Development Director, Flight Systems, is responsible for the strategic growth of the North Wind Flight Systems portfolio. This position manages the end-to-end capture process, from early-stage opportunity identification and market shaping to proposal submission and program hand-off. The Director serves as a primary bridge between customer requirements and North Wind's technical capabilities, ensuring our solutions are competitively positioned to win. Responsibilities Lead the North Wind Flight Systems capture strategy and execution for priority pursuits. Work across North Wind to identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities. Collaborate directly with major government agencies, OEMs, and commercial enterprises to showcase North Wind's value, capabilities, and industry expertise. Coordinate with Flight Systems management to develop offerings and customer accounts. Lead the development of strategic project proposals and coordinate collaboration of team discussions and agreements with external partners and stakeholders. Execute an established business development plan that defines clear direction, milestones, and actions to drive sustainable, profitable growth in alignment with the company's strategic objectives. Provide timely and accurate input for revenue and profit forecasts. Professionally represent the company at various business conferences, trade shows and community events.Core Objectives:

Drive year-over-year growth for the Flight Systems business unit.Win Rate Optimization:
Increase proposal effectiveness through rigorous solution development and competitive intelligence.Pipeline Quality:
Maintain a robust and qualified pipeline of opportunities aligned with the company's long-term technical roadmap. Preferred Education /Experience:
Bachelor's / Master's Degree in related discipline 12+ years of experience in related discipline Previous experience in management position; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to above Relevant experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry Background in high-speed and hypersonic systemsSecurity Clearance:
Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a collateral secret security clearance. Preferred Knowledge /Ability:
Must be a self-starter, able to work on multiple projects, and prioritize workload Ability to manage confidential information and conduct business with the highest level of professionalism and integrity Previous exposure to engineering, machining and fabrication processes, interaction with shop personnel, and familiarity with manufacturing techniques RDT&E program experience with US Defense Acquisition activities Strong written and verbal communication Strong interpersonal skills Must be able to travel at least 25% of the timeSimilar jobs in Newport News, VA
