Job Description

Job Purpose:
The Sales Manager at Deacon Jones Auto Group is responsible for leading and managing the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving the growth of the dealership. The role involves developing strategic sales plans, coaching and mentoring sales staff, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and motivate the sales team to achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets. Develop and implement effective sales strategies and plans to drive sales growth and profitability. Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics and provide regular reports to senior management. Conduct regular training sessions and provide ongoing coaching to enhance the skills and performance of the sales team. Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention. Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and finance, to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives. Oversee the inventory management process to ensure optimal stock levels and availability of vehicles. Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats. Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all sales activities. Represent the dealership at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to enhance the company's presence and reputation.
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, with at least 2 years in a managerial role, preferably within the automotive industry. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth. Experience in developing and implementing sales strategies and plans. Previous experience in a car dealership environment is highly desirable.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and team members. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends to make informed decisions. Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales management tools. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing market conditions. Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a customer-focused approach. High level of integrity and professionalism in all business dealings.
