EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Military Avenue Business Improvement District — Green Bay, WI Full-Time | $60,000-$65,000 per year, based on experience About the Military Avenue BID The Military Avenue Business Improvement District (BID) is dedicated to strengthening and promoting the Military Avenue business corridor in Green Bay. The BID works with local businesses, property owners, community organizations, and the City of Green Bay to create a vibrant, successful, and attractive business district. Position Summary The Executive Director is the chief staff leader of the Military Avenue nonprofit and BID and is responsible for the day-to-day management and advancement of the district. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, community-minded professional who can build strong relationships with business and property owners, develop partnerships, promote the Military Avenue corridor, organize successful programs and events, and identify opportunities for economic growth. This is a hands-on position. The Executive Director will be expected to be visible and engaged throughout the district and to take initiative rather than simply administer existing programs. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of Military Avenue, Inc and BID.
  • Build strong relationships with Military Avenue businesses and property owners.
  • Recruit new businesses and assist with business retention and expansion.
  • Promote the Military Avenue corridor through marketing, social media, newsletters and other communications.
  • Plan and coordinate BID events and promotional activities.
  • Develop sponsorships, partnerships and other sources of revenue.
  • Lead the successful Summer and Winter Market on Military.
  • Work with the City of Green Bay and other community organizations on economic development and corridor improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve vacant properties and attract new investment.
  • Prepare and manage the annual BID budget and Operating Plan.
  • Provide regular reports and recommendations to the Board of Directors.
  • Manage interns, contractors and other resources as authorized by the Board.
  • Represent the Military Avenue BID at community and business meetings.
The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is: A strong communicator and relationship builder. Self-motivated and able to work independently. Comfortable meeting with business owners and community leaders. Experienced in marketing, business development, economic development, nonprofit management or a related field. Organized and capable of managing budgets, projects and events. Creative and willing to develop new ideas to increase business activity on Military Avenue. Professional and enthusiastic about promoting the Military Avenue business district. Experience with a Business Improvement District, downtown organization, chamber of commerce, economic development organization, commercial real estate or business ownership is highly desirable. A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required. Relevant professional experience will be considered. Compensation $60,000-$65,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits will be discussed with qualified candidates. The Executive Director will receive an annual performance evaluation, with potential salary adjustments based on performance and the financial condition of the BID.
