As a Cashier, you will be the frontline representative of our store, ensuring a smooth checkout process and fostering positive shopping experiences for all customers. Responsibilities Operate cash registers accurately, handling retail sales transactions with precision and efficiency Manage cash drawer handling, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed at all times Assist customers with product inquiries, including product demos and providing knowledgeable recommendations Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities Stock shelves and maintain merchandising standards to ensure an organized shopping environment Process returns, exchanges, and handle customer complaints professionally Maintain phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries Support inventory management by assisting with stocking and inventory counts Demonstrate retail store product knowledge to educate customers about features and benefits Perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for transactions and pricing adjustments Ensure compliance with POS (Point of Sale) system procedures and cash register operations Skills Proven experience in retail sales, cashiering, or grocery store environments preferred Strong proficiency with POS systems and cash register operations Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings Excellent communication skills in both bilingual settings (if applicable) and overall customer interactions Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and inventory management Knowledge of merchandising techniques to enhance product presentation Familiarity with grocery store procedures, including stock replenishment and product demos Exceptional phone etiquette for professional customer engagement over the phone or online Demonstrated ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining customer satisfaction Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in handling cash, receipts, and transaction records This position offers an engaging environment where your sales expertise and customer service skills will directly contribute to our store's success.
