Duties Operate the cash register system (POS) accurately for all retail sales transactions, including cash, credit, and mobile payments. Handle cash drawer operations with precision, ensuring proper cash handling and balancing at the end of each shift. Provide friendly and professional customer service, addressing inquiries and assisting customers with product information and store services. Conduct product demos when applicable to promote store offerings and enhance customer engagement. Maintain knowledge of store products, including grocery items and general merchandise, to assist customers effectively. Stock shelves and organize merchandise during overnight hours to ensure the store remains tidy and well-presented. Assist with merchandising efforts, including product placement and inventory replenishment. Support supervising staff by overseeing daily operations when necessary and ensuring adherence to store policies. Uphold phone etiquette standards when interacting with customers or vendors via phone calls. Engage in upselling techniques to increase sales while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction. Skills Proven experience with POS systems and cash register operations in a retail or grocery setting. Supervising experience is preferred to oversee daily store functions during overnight shifts. Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and retail math calculations. Strong communication skills in both verbal and written formats; bilingual abilities are advantageous. Knowledge of retail sales processes, including upselling and product demos. Familiarity with stocking procedures, merchandising, and inventory management. Excellent customer service skills with a professional phone etiquette approach. Experience in grocery store operations or retail sales transactions is highly desirable.
