Responsibilities Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately for retail sales transactions, including scanning items, processing payments, and issuing receipts Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos Manage cash drawer handling with precision, ensuring all cash handling procedures are followed and discrepancies are reported promptly Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities while maintaining a friendly approach Stock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure products are well-presented and easily accessible for customers Assist with merchandising efforts by setting up displays and ensuring product knowledge is current for effective product demos Maintain phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors over the phone, providing clear information and professional service Qualifications Prior experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred, especially with cashiering or POS systems Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills in a retail setting is a plus Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are highly valued for serving diverse customer needs Basic math skills for handling cash register operations, retail math calculations, and balancing cash drawers accurately Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and stock management practices Experience with cashiering tasks such as cash handling, retail sales transactions, and inventory stocking Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to create a welcoming shopping environment Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods and lifting merchandise as needed Join our team to deliver outstanding service while developing your retail career!
