Cashier

CASHIER Full time Rotating schedule with weekend and evening requirements Overview The Cashier will recommend suitable tobacco products to customers, make an impact on the business, and ensure that sales floors are adequately stocked. The cashier will be energetic and have an outgoing personality ensuring customers are engaged. Compliance and customer service will always be the top priority from this position. • Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions with customers
• Scan goods and collect payments
• Issue receipts, refunds, and change to customers
• Resolve customer complaints, guide them, and provide relevant information
• Maintain a clean and tidy checkout area
• Keep reports of transactions
• Upsell products and services to customers
• Takes inventory of tobacco products and lottery tickets ensuring that the sales floor is adequately stocked
• Stocks perishable snacks and drinks using FIFO inventory management (First in first out)
• Ensures expired food products are removed from stock
• Assist with stocking shelves and maintaining store cleanliness Experience
• Proven work experience as a cashier or in customer service
• Basic math skills
• Ability to work independently and interdependently
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Familiarity with POS systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong phone etiquette
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Retail sales experience is a plus This position is subject to a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen (THC EXEMPT).
