Full Job Description Location:

Pala, CA Assists the Manager and Assistant Manager in the daily operation of Mini Mart/Deli facility. Act as a leader on the sales floor by providing excellent guest service. Lead the store independently in the absence of upper management. Build a strong partnership with team members and managers. Excellent guest service, communication and interpersonal skills required. Minimum 2 years cash handling experience and ability to adapt to any POS Systems. Basic computer skills required. Previous convenience store and gas station experience. Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Ability to multi-task. Proficient in math. Ability to make sound decisions. Independent, self-motivated and detailed oriented. Must read, write, and speak English. High School Diploma or GED required. Ability to obtain and maintain Food Safety Certificate.

Essential Job Functions:

Ability to successfully "open" and "close" the store. Provide high quality guest service at all times. Conduct cashier functions. Process returns, voids, and refunds. Constantly working in a food prep environment; which includes use of the hand-truck, service deli slicer, microwave oven, rotisserie, and washing of food prep equipment. Act as a role-model to the team members in selling and upselling on the sales floor. Ensure proper opening and closing procedures are followed. Ensure Team Members perform tasks on checklist. Guarantee product quality by following the basic procedures of "First in First Out" (FIFO) inventory procedures. Replenish inventory on the display sales floor including walk in coolers, hot food areas and produce areas. Ensure all "fast food" is maintained at the proper holding temperatures and kept fresh throughout the day. Ensure a safe working environment for the team by using safety equipment correctly and obeying safety policies. Train new team members. Demonstrate competency in vendor ordering, receiving, unpacking, and pricing processes. Communicate new products and/or promotions with vendors, management, and Team Members. Handle all guest and Team Member complaints/concerns in a prompt, professional manner, at all times, and notify Assistant Manager or Manager of any wrong doings or irregularities. Take reasonable precautions and measures to protect Pala Mini Marts assets. Understand and complies with all new processes as they are implemented. Maintain a cash flow level in registers by following "Cash Safe and Cash Change" ordering procedures. Participate in the monthly inventory schedule and conduct accurate counts on all product categories. Perform daily fuel/gas price check comparison from nearby competitors. Act quickly and communicates effectively any gas pump/station safety, repair issues and price changes to appropriate personnel. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
