Hourly Job Summary:
The Cashier will use cash registers and related equipment to conduct monetary transactions with customers. Provides excellent customer service to promote long-term, positive customer relationships.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Greets customers as they enter the location. Accepts money in the form of cash and credit or debit cards for items purchased. Identifies prices of products and services and tabulates bills with available equipment. Assists customers with questions or price discrepancies. Ensures accurate transactions. Bag, box, and wrap purchased items. Understands ticket rotation. Assists customers in locating various products, resolving complaints, or providing information. Stocks merchandise. Responsible for a neat, clean and organized store. Performs other related duties as assigned that would lead to successful operation of department, team, and/or mission. Please note that this position has a 90-day introductory period.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent customer service skills. Excellent verbal communication skills. Read, write, speak and understand English. Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, or scanners. Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds. Punctual. May need to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis. Knowledgeable about company's mission and services, and customer-related policies.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing (up to 8 hours) and working on cash register or related equipment. Must be able to lift/pull/push up to 50 pounds at times. Ability to bend/squat/stoop. Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time. Free from drug and alcohol abuse. Equipment, machines and tools used: Electronic cash register. Smart Safe. Calculator. Telephone. Charge Card terminal. Broom, dust mop, wet mop, water bucket. Personal Protective Equipment Used - Assigned at orientation/as needed:
