Whether you're ringing up custom shave ice orders, serving fresh musubi, or keeping our counter sparkling clean, you'll play a key role in bringing island-style hospitality to our guests every day.
Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Cashiering Welcome Guests:
Greet every customer with warmth and genuine Aloha hospitality. Point of Sale (POS): Take and process customer orders accurately and efficiently using our POS system, handling cash and card transactions.
Menu Knowledge:
Guide guests through menu selections, including syrup flavor combinations, toppings, ice textures, and musubi varieties. Confidently answer questions regarding dietary restrictions or allergens.
Order Accuracy:
Double-check orders to ensure everything is prepared accurately and presented cleanly before handing it off to the guest.
Food & Beverage Prep Support Musubi & Snack Station:
Warm, assemble, package, and display freshly prepared musubi and side items according to brand recipes and quality standards.
Shave Ice Assembly:
Assist in shaving ice, adding syrup layers, and garnishing with toppings (snow caps, azuki beans, mochi, ice cream bases, etc.) during peak operational rushes.
Restocking:
Keep front counter display cases, utensil stations, paper goods, syrup bottles, and beverage coolers fully stocked and organized throughout shift transitions.
Shop Maintenance & Food Safety Sanitation:
Maintain a spotless service counter, guest dining area, pick-up station, and cashier hub.
Food Safety:
Adhere strictly to local health department guidelines, personal hygiene standards, and safe food-handling protocols (temperatures, glove usage, rotation).
Opening/Closing Work:
Complete designated opening, mid-shift, or closing checklists (e.g., wiping down prep areas, sweeping/mopping, emptying trash, balancing drawers).
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
Prior cashier, retail, or fast-casual food service experience preferred (high-volume experience is a big plus), but we are happy to train candidates with a great attitude!
Communication:
Clear, positive, and active communication with both guests and kitchen/prep team members.
Speed & Multitasking:
Ability to stay calm, focused, and organized in a fast-paced environment with a smile.
Tech Literacy:
Comfort using touchscreen POS terminals and digital order tickets.
Certifications:
Must possess (or be willing to obtain prior to start date) a valid Food Handler Card / Food Safety Certificate as required by local regulations. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and lean for extended periods (4-8 hours per shift). Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and occasionally lift/carry items weighing up to 30-40 lbs (e.g., ice blocks, syrup jugs, beverage cases). Hand dexterity required for fast-paced order entry, packaging musubi, and serving shave ice. •$500 Bonus for employees who stay 6 months or longer.•
