In this vital role, you will be the face of our cafeteria operations, ensuring smooth and efficient food service experiences while maintaining high standards of food safety and customer satisfaction. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help foster a positive dining atmosphere that promotes healthy eating habits and community engagement. Responsibilities Process POS (Point of Sale) systems to handle student and staff purchases. Greet customers warmly, providing excellent in-person customer service while assisting with menu inquiries or dietary needs. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier station, dining area, and surrounding spaces by following cleaning schedules and sanitizing procedures. Support food handling and serving duties as needed, including assisting with food preparation or distribution in compliance with food safety standards. Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure all surfaces, utensils, and equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized regularly. Handle weight-based transactions or food portioning when required, ensuring accuracy in serving sizes and pricing. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service times, restock supplies, and uphold hygiene standards during busy periods. Experience Previous experience in a food service environment such as school cafeterias, restaurants, catering, or hospitality is highly desirable. Familiarity with operating POS systems and processing cash transactions efficiently. Knowledge of food safety management practices, including sanitizing procedures and safe food handling techniques. Experience in customer service roles that involve direct interaction with diverse groups of people. Background in culinary or food preparation tasks, including basic food handling skills and serving techniques. Exposure to fine dining or hospitality environments can be an asset for understanding high standards of service. Ability to handle manual tasks such as weight handling in the workplace safely while maintaining a positive attitude.
