A Head Cashier manages all checkout functions including ensuring adequate staffing levels on checkouts, the processing of sales transactions and refunds, monitoring cash drawer amounts and maintaining the checkout area. Head cashier provides first level escalation for customer issues and assists in the supervision and training of cashiers. Head cashier may also be responsible for opening or closing procedures of a store, including alarm operation, unlocking store and setting up of checkout area.

Lead Cashier Regular Full-Time Cripple Creek, CO, US Salary Range:
$15.00 to $22.00 plus

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
To lead, train, and provide technical direction to Cashiers in support of quality services to customers, including providing change for operation slot machined, cashing checks, preparing fills and jackpots, checking banks out and back in, checking keys out and back in, adding money to the safe, preparing deposits, counting, and bundling cash, wrapping change, and balancing the bank. To develop and maintain effective working relationships and good customer service skills with all customers and team members. To perform responsibilities in compliance with the Colorado Limited Gaming Act. House Policies and Procedures and the Colorado Division of Gaming Rules and Regulations. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Performs duties in compliance with safety procedures, which includes the use of safety equipment. Employees are responsible for following safety procedures, identifying unsafe practices or conditions, and informing their supervisor or the Safety Committee of unsafe conditions, as directed. Leads, trains, and provides technical direction to Cashiers in support of quality services to customers, including providing change for operating slot machines, cashing checks, preparing fills and jackpots, checking banks out and back in, checking keys out and back in, adding money to the safe, preparing deposits, counting, and bundling cash, wrapping change, and balancing the bank. Leads Cashier employees in receiving, securing, handling, counting, reconciling, and distributing large sums of money accurately and promptly. Trains Cashiers in the operation of various machines used to count and wrap coins and cash. Leads Cashier employees in performing responsibilities in compliance with the Colorado Limited Gaming Act. Completes required casino forms for slot jackpot fill slips and follows set procedures for re-filling assigned lockers. Guides Cashiers in developing and maintaining effective working relationships and good customer service skills with all customers and team members. Trains and develops Cashiers to maintain an alertness for the performance of all responsibilities, and a general awareness of casino operations always. Keeps supervisor informed of any concerns. Leads Cashiers in compliance with established security policies and procedures. Informs supervisor and/or Security Officer or Security Manager of any concerns. Performs, when necessary, as a backup to Cage/Cashiering staff. Performs other duties, including special projects, as needed, and directed. Reports to work as scheduled, on time, and ready to work. Demonstrated knowledge of casino operations, and gaming rules and regulations. Demonstrated experience receiving, securing, handling, counting, and reconciling, and distributing large sums of money quickly and accurately. Demonstrated experience leading, training, and providing technical direction to cashiers. Demonstrated effective and diplomatic customer service and communication skills, which includes contacts with employees and customers. Must have a valid and current State of Colorado Gaming License. Must be at least eighteen years of age.
