Responsibilities Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash register operations and cash handling. Provide friendly and professional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries. Conduct product demos when appropriate to showcase features and benefits of store merchandise. Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities. Manage the cash drawer with precision, ensuring proper cash handling and balancing at shift end. Stock shelves, organize displays, and assist with merchandising to maintain an attractive shopping environment. Maintain excellent phone etiquette when handling customer calls or inquiries. Assist with inventory management tasks such as stocking, product replenishment, and inventory counts. Support supervising team members by providing guidance on cashiering procedures and customer service standards when needed. Demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members. Apply basic math skills for transaction accuracy and retail math calculations. Experience Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key! Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations is a plus. Prior grocery store or retail experience involving cashiering, stocking, or merchandising is advantageous. Supervising experience in a retail setting is a nice-to-have but not mandatory; leadership qualities are valued. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer needs effectively. Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and customer service expertise, are essential. Experience with upselling techniques and product demos can help maximize sales performance.
