Duties Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for retail sales transactions, including scanning items, processing payments, and issuing receipts. Handle cash drawer operations with precision, ensuring proper cash handling, balancing registers at shift end, and maintaining accountability. Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions about products, and assisting with product demos when needed. Upsell products and suggest additional items to enhance customer experience and increase sales. Stock shelves, organize merchandise displays, and assist with merchandising efforts to keep the store inviting and well-organized. Maintain phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely. Support inventory management by stocking products, conducting stock checks, and assisting with inventory counts. Demonstrate knowledge of store products, including grocery items if applicable, to help customers make informed choices. Assist in supervising new team members or trainees as needed, sharing best practices for cashiering and customer service excellence. Skills Proficiency in POS systems and cash register operations with strong basic math skills for accurate transactions. Prior retail sales experience with a focus on cashiering, merchandising, or grocery store environments preferred. Excellent communication skills coupled with friendly phone etiquette to engage customers effectively. Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases. Proven supervising experience or leadership skills to support team operations when required. Knowledge of retail store product knowledge and merchandising techniques to enhance sales opportunities. Ability to handle cash drawer handling responsibly while maintaining integrity in cash handling procedures.
