Duties Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card payments. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries. Conduct product demos when applicable, highlighting features and benefits to encourage sales and upselling opportunities. Maintain an organized checkout area, ensuring the cash drawer is balanced at the start and end of each shift. Stock shelves and assist with merchandising to ensure products are well-presented and accessible for customers. Support inventory management by stocking new items, conducting stock counts, and assisting with inventory audits. Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when handling inquiries or customer calls, maintaining professionalism at all times. Assist in supervising team members when needed, providing guidance on cashier procedures and customer service standards. Engage in retail sales activities by promoting store products, offering product demos, and upselling where appropriate. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and store policies during all cashiering duties. Skills Proficiency with POS systems and cash register operations for seamless transaction processing. Previous supervising experience is a plus for supporting team operations. Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain product features and answer customer questions effectively. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve a diverse customer base better. Excellent phone etiquette for professional communication over the phone or via email. Experience in retail sales transactions, including retail math for accurate cash handling and balancing registers. Knowledge of grocery store or retail store product knowledge enhances customer interactions. Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for cash handling and sales calculations. Skills in merchandising, stocking, and product demos to enhance the shopping experience.
