Gift Shop Cashier

Summary:

The Gift Shop Cashier p rovides outstanding guest service with fast, friendly, and efficient service based on Company Standards. They efficiently collect payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits. Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers. Additionally, they identify prices of goods and tabulate bills using calculators, cash registers, or optical price scanners.

Responsibilities:

Accurately scan and ring up items, ensuring correct pricing and quantities. Process payments via cash, credit/debit cards, and other accepted methods. Calculate and return change for cash transactions. Issue receipts and refunds. Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service. Answer customer questions about products and store policies. Assist customers with locating items. Handle customer inquiries and resolve minor issues. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area. Balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift or as required. Ensure accurate cash handling and reconciliation procedures. Assist with stocking shelves and keeping the area tidy. May be involved in basic inventory checks. Comply with the company's drug-free and tobacco/nicotine-free policy All other duties as assigned

Experience/Qualifications:

Previous cash handling or customer service experience preferred. Strong verbal communication skills. Excellent attention to detail skills. Ability to lift- up to 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. infrequently Must be able to legally work in the USA. Education and Certification(s)/License(s): High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
