Head cashier provides first level escalation for customer issues and assists in the supervision and training of cashiers. Head cashier may also be responsible for opening or closing procedures of a store, including alarm operation, unlocking store and setting up of checkout area.

The Head Cashier takes a lead role in delivering a helpful, accurate, efficient, and friendly atmosphere for our customers' ultimate Elder's experience as they enter and exit the store.
Responsibilities include:
Project a positive, enthusiastic approach to customers. Anticipate customer needs and deliver best-in-class helpfulness and follow-through. Supervise and ensure thorough training, feedback, and support for our cashiers. Accurately and timely count drawers, prepare point-of-sale and accounting reports, and perform banking duties -- daily, weekly, and monthly. Take merchandising ownership of the cashier area. Ensure front-end merchandise is ordered and stocked (candy, snacks, impulse items, gift cards, etc.). Assist on the sales floor and run a point-of-sale station when the store is busy. Perform housekeeping duties such as vacuuming, dusting/cleaning shelves, emptying trash, cleaning restrooms, etc. when needed.
Qualifications:
1 year of cashier experience, lead role or leadership training preferred. Retail experience in a hardware or home improvement store a big plus. Regularly display Elder's 6 E's with our customers: Ethics, Enthusiasm, Engagement, Empathy, Etiquette, and Efficiency. Available to work at least one evening and either a Saturday or Sunday and cover cashier shifts when needed. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Values accuracy and meeting strict deadlines. Honors company policies and ensure staff does the same.
