A Head Cashier manages all checkout functions including ensuring adequate staffing levels on checkouts, the processing of sales transactions and refunds, monitoring cash drawer amounts and maintaining the checkout area. Head cashier provides first level escalation for customer issues and assists in the supervision and training of cashiers. Head cashier may also be responsible for opening or closing procedures of a store, including alarm operation, unlocking store and setting up of checkout area.

Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and friendly Cashier/Customer Service Representative to join our dynamic non-profit retail team! In this role, you will be the face of our store, providing exceptional service to customers while efficiently handling sales transactions. Your enthusiasm and sales abilities will help create a welcoming environment, ensuring customers leave satisfied and eager to return. Responsibilities Operate the cash register accurately, handling retail sales transactions with precision and efficiency Provide outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with merchandise selections Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including stocking register & retail supplies Handle cash drawer operations responsibly, ensuring proper cash handling and balancing at shift end, along with making change order requests Use POS (Point of Sale) systems confidently to process transactions, and exchanges while adhering to store policies Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers Engage in retail math calculations for pricing, discounts, and sales promotions accurately Assist in inventory management through sorting, pricing, & displaying merchandise Experience Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate Strong communication skills are essential for engaging with customers and team members alike Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and basic math is important for smooth daily operations Knowledge of retail and merchandising techniques will help maximize sales opportunities
Pay:
$12.00 - $14.50 per hour
