Job Description

Position Summary The Agent in Charge (AIC) / Vault Manager is a key member of the dispensary leadership team responsible for supporting the General Manager in the daily operation of the store. This role ensures compliance with state regulations, company policies, inventory controls, security procedures, and cash handling practices while delivering an exceptional customer experience. The AIC serves as the Manager on Duty when assigned and leads by example through professionalism, accountability, reliability, and sound decision-making. This position requires a leader who is passionate about cannabis, committed to operational excellence, and dedicated to supporting both employees and customers. Key Responsibilities Serve as Manager on Duty during assigned shifts. Lead, coach, and support dispensary staff while fostering a positive, accountable work environment. Ensure compliance with all Company policies, Illinois cannabis regulations, and security requirements. Oversee inventory, vault operations, cash handling, and daily operational procedures. Assist with product receiving, inventory reconciliation, and operational reporting. Help coordinate daily staffing, breaks, workflow, and customer service. Resolve customer concerns professionally and promote a positive customer experience. Maintain product knowledge and educate customers on the benefits of cannabis. Communicate effectively with the General Manager regarding store operations and employee concerns. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum of two years of retail experience, including at least one year in a leadership or supervisory role. High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in a regulated industry preferred. Valid driver's license. Ability to obtain and maintain all required State of Illinois credentials and successfully complete required background checks. Because this position frequently begins earlier than other store positions and is responsible for opening the dispensary, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential to the success of the role. Scheduling Expectations Open availability is required, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as business needs require. Physical Requirements Stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently bend, kneel, squat, and lift up to 30 pounds. Perform computer and administrative work as needed. All applicants are required to undergo an FBI background check and fingerprinting through the state of Illinois, as required by state law. No individual is allowed to work in a licensed cannabis facility prior to undergoing a background check, being fingerprinted, and receiving their cannabis dispensary agent card from the State of Illinois. Additional knowledge of cannabis varieties, products, treatment options regarding various ailments, patient confidentiality (HIPAA), and the state program (Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act 410 ILCS 705, IDPH Title 77 IL Adm. Code 946, IDFPR Title 68 IL Adm. Code 1290) is encouraged. All employees are required to undergo an orientation and training period.
