Responsibilities Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries. Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and other payment methods with precision and integrity. Upsell products and promote store promotions or special offers to enhance sales opportunities. Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about features and benefits. Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the store is clean and inviting. Manage stock levels by assisting with inventory counts, stock replenishment, and product placement. Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors over the phone. Support team members through supervising experience or assisting in training new staff when needed. Requirements Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key! Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate cash handling and transaction processing. Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers. Strong customer service orientation with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette. Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for transactions. Experience in grocery stores or retail sales environments is highly desirable.
