About Us:
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Chicago is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving individuals and families in need throughout our community. Through our thrift stores and outreach programs, we provide essential resources with dignity, compassion, and respect.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, friendly, and motivated Part-Time Cashier to join our Orland Park Thrift Store team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a retail environment, and wants to make a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide excellent customer service at the register Accurately process purchases using a point-of-sale system Handle cash, credit, and other forms of payment Maintain a clean and organized checkout area Support overall store operations as needed Work collaboratively with team members and volunteers
Qualifications:
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills Basic math skills for handling transactions Basic computer knowledge Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time Comfortable working in an active retail environment
Availability Requirements:
Weekday mornings and afternoons Weekend availability (mornings and afternoons) Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and evenings required
