A Head Cashier manages all checkout functions including ensuring adequate staffing levels on checkouts, the processing of sales transactions and refunds, monitoring cash drawer amounts and maintaining the checkout area. Head cashier provides first level escalation for customer issues and assists in the supervision and training of cashiers. Head cashier may also be responsible for opening or closing procedures of a store, including alarm operation, unlocking store and setting up of checkout area.

Salary Schedule:
Classified Range 14 starting at $16.73/hour Applications accepted until position is filled.
Responsibilities:
Maintains cash operation and bookkeeping at school. Prepares a variety of reports (e.g. daily/monthly meal and revenue, bank deposits). Reconciles cash and credit receipts to meal counts for the purpose of maintaining accurate account balances and complying with policies and/or regulations. Monitors lunch room activities for the purpose of ensuring the safety and welfare of students.
Requirements:
Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include preparing and maintaining accurate records and using pertinent software applications. Knowledge of bookkeeping principles, basic mathematics and food safety and handling procedures. Must be able to assist children in a social atmosphere and work well with other co-workers as well as school faculty and support staff. Must maintain professional appearance and manner, be organized, flexible, self-directed and be able to respect confidential information.
