What they do
A Head Cashier manages all checkout functions including ensuring adequate staffing levels on checkouts, the processing of sales transactions and refunds, monitoring cash drawer amounts and maintaining the checkout area. Head cashier provides first level escalation for customer issues and assists in the supervision and training of cashiers. Head cashier may also be responsible for opening or closing procedures of a store, including alarm operation, unlocking store and setting up of checkout area.

Comfortable operating POS systems, handling cash responsibly, and troubleshooting basic register steps.Experience & Education Requirements Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience:
3 to 5 years of experience in retail, café, restaurant, guest service, or hospitality roles.Leadership Experience:
Previous team lead, supervisory, or keyholder experience is strongly preferred. Physical & Workplace Requirements This is an active, front-of-house customer service role. To succeed, you must be able to: Stand and walk for extended periods up to the duration of a shift. Frequently bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive register and merchandising motions. Regularly lift, carry, and move boxes or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds . Navigate sales floors, café counters, storage, and back-of-house areas with ease.
