A Head Cashier manages all checkout functions including ensuring adequate staffing levels on checkouts, the processing of sales transactions and refunds, monitoring cash drawer amounts and maintaining the checkout area. Head cashier provides first level escalation for customer issues and assists in the supervision and training of cashiers. Qualifications:
Education :
Basic reading and writing skills required.
Training and Experience :
No formal experience required; prior cashiering, typing, or keypunch experience preferred.
Job Knowledge :
Must accurately count back change; knowledge of cashier procedures and building materials is a plus.
Physical Demands :
Light physical activity including sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting. Work is performed in a climate-controlled environment.
