Duties Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately during retail sales transactions, handling cash, credit cards, and digital payments with precision. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos. Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales and improve the customer experience. Manage cash drawer handling responsibly, ensuring accurate cash handling and balancing at the end of each shift. Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure the front-end area is clean, inviting, and well-merchandised. Demonstrate product features or demos when requested, helping customers make informed purchase decisions. Maintain professional phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers over the phone. Experience Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate. Familiarity with POS systems and retail math to handle transactions efficiently. Supervising experience is a plus, especially in managing team members or overseeing daily operations at the front end. Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a valuable asset for serving diverse customers. Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising, and grocery store operations enhances your effectiveness in this role.
