In this energetic role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service while efficiently handling transactions. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases using POS (Point of Sale) systems to process retail sales transactions accurately and swiftly Handle cash register operations, including cash handling, balancing cash drawers, and capable of running the store by themselves Provide product demos and upsell items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities Maintain knowledge of store products and merchandising to answer customer inquiries confidently and suggest relevant items Stock shelves, organize displays, accept wine and beer deliveries, and ensure the sales floor is clean, organized, and inviting for shoppers Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or taking orders Support in supervising or mentoring new team members in cashiering procedures and customer service standards Qualifications Prior experience in retail sales, using POS systems, and using Maryland Lottery POS systems is preferred but not required; training will be provided Strong basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and efficiently Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers Familiarity with POS systems and Maryland Lottery operations is advantageous Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service with a friendly attitude Experience in merchandising, stocking, or product demos is desirable Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism Join us as a Cashier and become an integral part of a lively team dedicated to delivering exceptional shopping experiences!
