Gas Station Clerk

As a convenience store clerk, you are responsible for bagging purchases, greeting the customers as they enter, helping them through the purchase process, upselling merchandise, and thanking the customer as they leave the store, as well as learning propane. You are responsible for the general cleaning duties of your check-out area, which could include tidying the premises, mopping the floor, emptying the trash can, and performing other cleaning activities all while preventing theft and other dangerous situations within the store, should such occur. Job Description:

Greet customers as they walk into our establishment and thank them as they leave with their purchases. Assist customers to make their purchase as seamless as possible. Provide information regarding pricing and available services. Scan ALL customer purchases to determine prices, or punch in purchases into the cash register accurately. Accept and process both cash and credit card payments and ensure that receipts and change are issued. Balance the cash register at the end of each shift, ensuring that any discrepancies are managed in an immediate fashion. Prepare bank deposits and arrange for cash to be deposited into the bank after the shift has ended if needed. Manage cash drawer limits while dropping cash in safe as needed to ensure safety. Oversee and maintain product inventory, ensuring that any low stock situations are remedied. Handle stocking and pricing activities, by remaining within the parameters of company protocol. Maintain food requirements and acquire a food handlers license where applicable. Acquire propane license where applicable. Duties can change at anytime and are not limited to those listed above.
