Park & Elm - Market Shift Supervisor $18/hr + tips We are looking for a Shift Supervisor with a great personality and customer service experience to work our gourmet market and deli. If you have a passion for gourmet food and drinks, strong math and computer skills, love interacting with people, and would like to put these skills to work, we want you! Cashier responsibilities Greeting customers Answering customer queries about pricing, discounts, refund policies, coupons, gift cards, etc Providing advice or recommendations after understanding customer needs Managing a high volume of transactions on a daily basis Collecting payments in cash or credit Registering sales on a digital pont of sale, by scanning and itemizing items and totaling customers' purchases Issuing receipts, refunds or exchanges Redeeming gift cards Cross-selling and upselling products. Processing returns Bagging purchases Balancing the cash drawer at the beginning and end of a work shift Operating cash desk equipment such as scanners, scales, cash registers and other devices Maintaining clean and tidy checkout areas Maintaining a safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations Cashier skills and qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Basic math and computer skills Prior experience as a cashier Customer service experience Ability to handle a high volume of transactions Polite and courteous Strong communication skills Familiarity with cash desk equipment, such as point-of-sale (POS) machines, scanners and cash drawers Alert and attentive to details Ability to work in a team and follow instructions Food handling experience Food safety certification is a plus!
