Duties Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions accurately and quickly Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision and confidence Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product information or demos Upsell additional products or services to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area, including merchandising and stocking shelves as needed Manage product returns, exchanges, and resolve customer concerns professionally Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries Skills Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures Previous supervising experience is a plus for leadership opportunities Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and inventory counts Excellent communication skills in both English and bilingual capabilities to serve diverse customers effectively Experience in grocery store or retail sales environments preferred Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and product demos to engage customers effectively Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor Basic math skills for balancing registers and processing payments confidently Ability to multitask in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail
