Job Overview Join our vibrant team as a Cashier and Stock Associate at Amherst Dairy Mart! You'll be the welcoming face of our store, handling transactions with accuracy and professionalism, while also maintaining organized stock levels behind the scenes. Responsibilities Operate cash registers accurately using RF scanners and handle retail transactions efficiently Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with product inquiries and purchases Stock shelves with dairy products, produce, and other store items, ensuring proper merchandising and presentation Manage inventory control through regular stock checks, inventory management systems, and proper documentation Use material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts safely for loading, unloading, and organizing stock Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store environment, including cleaning work areas and product displays Assist with shipping & receiving tasks by loading and unloading deliveries, verifying shipment contents, and updating inventory records Experience Previous retail store experience or warehouse operations experience preferred but not required Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic math skills for stock counting and sales transactions Experience operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts is a plus Multilingual or bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases Strong communication skills combined with organizational skills to coordinate stocking, sales, and customer service tasks effectively Knowledge of retail product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and safe lifting practices will help you excel in this role Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while adhering to safety standards Join us to be part of a lively team dedicated to delivering quality products and memorable customer experiences!
