Cashier Job Summary:

The Retail Cashier is responsible for providing fast, friendly, and accurate checkout service to customers. This position ensures smooth payment transactions, maintains store cleanliness, and contributes to a positive shopping experience while supporting store operations. Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide courteous, professional service at the checkout
• Accurately process cash, credit/debit, gift card, voucher, and other forms of payment
• Weigh items and determine prices of the same
• Scan, bag, and handle merchandise with care
• Maintain knowledge of store promotions, policies, and procedures
• Practice proper check cashing policy and verify credit acceptance by reviewing and/or recording driver's license number or other allowable method
• Issue receipts, refunds, gift cards, credits or change due to customers
• Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and returns professionally
• Balance cash register and prepare accurate reports at the end of shifts
• Assist with stocking shelves, cleaning, and general store upkeep as needed
• Follow all safety, loss prevention, and sanitation procedures
• Collaborate with team members to support smooth store operations Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED
• Previous experience in a grocery, retail, food service, or cashier experience is a plus
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and making change
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple customers
• Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays

Pay:

From $13.00 per hour
