Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Cashier Clerk to join our retail team! Responsibilities Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, returns, and exchanges. Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision, ensuring proper cash drawer handling and balancing at shift end. Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product demos when needed. Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance the customer experience and increase sales. Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and assist with merchandising displays to maintain an attractive store environment. Maintain phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries or providing store information over the phone. Support supervising staff during busy periods by assisting with product demos, inventory checks, and ensuring store policies are followed. Qualifications Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred. Strong knowledge of POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math for accurate transactions. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual settings if applicable. Demonstrated cashiering skills including cash handling, balancing cash drawers, and managing retail sales transactions efficiently. Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for sales totals and change. Experience in supervising or leading small teams is a plus but not required; leadership qualities are valued. Knowledge of grocery store or retail product lines enhances your ability to assist customers confidently.
