Job Description
Job Overview We're on the lookout for a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. In this role, you'll be the first point of contact for customers, handling transactions with a smile and ensuring every shopper has a positive experience. Your main focus will be managing retail sales transactions, operating the cash register, and providing excellent customer service. If you enjoy engaging with people, have a knack for numbers, and love working in a lively environment, this position is perfect for you! Bilingual skills are a plus to help serve our diverse customer base. Responsibilities Operate the cash register efficiently during retail sales transactions, ensuring accuracy in cash handling and receipt issuance. Assist customers with product inquiries, product demos, and upselling opportunities to enhance their shopping experience. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including cash drawer handling and merchandising displays. Support stock replenishment by stocking shelves and ensuring merchandise is well-presented. Use POS (Point of Sale) systems confidently to process payments via cash, credit/debit cards, or mobile payments. Provide friendly phone etiquette when answering customer questions or assisting with orders over the phone. Promote store products through product demos and suggestive selling to increase sales. Qualifications Previous cashiering or retail sales experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Strong basic math skills to handle cash register operations accurately. Excellent communication skills and a friendly attitude to connect with customers from diverse backgrounds. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving our varied clientele effectively. Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising, and sales techniques is a plus.
