Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Deli Worker and become a vital part of delivering fresh, delicious food to our valued customers! In this energetic role, you'll be the friendly face behind the counter, preparing and serving a variety of deli items with enthusiasm and precision. Your passion for food, excellent customer service skills, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment will help create a welcoming shopping experience that keeps customers coming back. This paid position offers opportunities to develop culinary skills, master POS systems, and thrive in the vibrant food industry. Prepare a wide range of deli products including sandwiches, salads, cold cuts, cheeses, and specialty items with attention to quality and presentation Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process sales accurately and efficiently Assist customers with selections, answer questions about products, and offer upselling suggestions to enhance their experience Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by regularly cleaning workstations, utensils, and food handling areas in compliance with food safety regulations Restock deli displays, organize products for easy access, and ensure proper food rotation to minimize waste Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and basic math calculations for change or discounts Support other store functions such as bussing tables or assisting in the café or grocery sections as needed Previous experience in food preparation, food service, or retail environments such as grocery stores or quick service restaurants is preferred Knowledge of POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable Strong understanding of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper food handling techniques Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively with diverse customers Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail Basic math skills for cash handling and retail transactions Experience with culinary tasks or kitchen environments is a plus but not required Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays Join us in creating memorable shopping experiences through exceptional food service!
