Job Description
Essential Responsibilities Provide friendly, courteous, and professional customer service at all times. Greet each customer promptly and respectfully with an honest, mindful, friendly, and positive attitude. Accurately enter customer orders into the point-of-sale system. Process cash, credit/debit card, and other approved forms of payment accurately. Provide accurate change and maintain appropriate cash-handling procedures. Complete daily cash-handling responsibilities, including deposits and daily cash reports. Answer the telephone professionally and accurately take customer orders. Expedite customer orders promptly and efficiently. Prepare the front-of-house area for daily operations. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming customer area. Clean, sanitize, organize, and maintain equipment and work areas. Communicate concerns regarding customers, equipment, safety, or department operations to the Food Service Manager promptly. Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education & Skills Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Strong communication and customer service skills. Basic computer skills and ability to learn and operate a point-of-sale system. Ability to accurately handle cash and other forms of payment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively as part of a team. Ability to safely operate common food service equipment. Physical & Environmental Requirements The position requires the ability to: Maintain visual acuity necessary to read menus, instructions, labels, and other work-related materials. Stand and walk for extended periods, including up to eight hours during a work shift. Lift or move up to 75 pounds or more with assistance occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently. Grasp, lift, hold, move, and position items weighing up to 50 pounds. Bend, stoop, reach, and position oneself from floor level to approximately six feet. Push and/or pull carts or equipment weighing up to 200 pounds. Exert approximately 30-50 foot-pounds of force when pushing or pulling stock or carts. Move throughout the facility as needed to perform job responsibilities. Hear and respond appropriately to timers, telephone calls, customer orders, and other workplace sounds. Work effectively in a fast-paced, high-activity environment. Work in environments with exposure to elevated noise levels, high temperatures, humidity, and cold temperatures.
