Retail continues to provide opportunities for people who want to build practical experience in customer service, sales and store operations. A Cashier position is a good starting point for developing communication skills, learning how a retail business operates and gaining experience working directly with customers. The Role You'll be part of the store team, helping customers at checkout while supporting the smooth running of the sales floor. The day can be busy, so being dependable, attentive and comfortable working with people is important. Day to Day Greet customers and provide friendly service Process cash, card and other payments accurately Answer basic customer questions Provide receipts and assist with returns when needed Keep the checkout area clean and organised Check prices and assist with basic product questions Replenish items around the checkout area Follow cash-handling and store procedures Support the team with general store tasks What Makes a Good Fit Friendly and professional attitude Comfortable working with customers Reliable and punctual Good basic math and attention to detail Comfortable handling payments Able to stay focused during busy periods Basic computer skills Previous cashier, retail or customer service experience is helpful, but not required Work and Benefits Full time position Regular scheduled shifts Paid training Weekly pay Career development opportunities Eligible employees may receive health coverage, paid time off, sick leave, employee discounts and other benefits, subject to company eligibility requirements.
