Hot Heffer Smash Burgers and Milkshakes is seeking a friendly, dependable, and experienced Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing outstanding customer service, thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment, and can accurately process orders while creating a welcoming experience for every guest. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask during busy shifts. Key Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service. Accurately take dine-in, carryout, and phone orders. Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and process cash, credit, and digital payments. Maintain an organized and balanced cash drawer throughout each shift. Answer customer questions regarding menu items, specials, and promotions. Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary. Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure order accuracy and timely service. Assist with food packaging and verify orders before delivery to customers. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front counter, dining area, beverage station and restrooms. Regularly inspect, clean, and restock customer and employee restrooms to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff. Restock supplies such as napkins, condiments, cups, and to-go containers. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company policies. Support team members as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations. Qualifications Must have completed high school or have a high school diploma/GED. Minimum of 1 year of cashier or restaurant experience preferred. Previous experience using POS systems and handling cash transactions. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy. Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Reliable transportation and strong attendance record. Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
