JODA Coffee Job Overview JODA Coffee is seeking friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashiers to manage the front register and provide a warm, efficient experience for every guest. As a Cashier, you will be stationed primarily at the register and front counter. Your main responsibilities will be greeting guests, taking accurate orders, processing payments, answering menu questions, and communicating orders clearly to the barista and kitchen teams. Because the cashier is often the first point of contact for our guests, this role is especially important in creating the welcoming atmosphere and hospitality that represents JODA Coffee. Responsibilities Remain primarily stationed at the register and front counter throughout the shift. Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, professional customer service. Take customer orders accurately and enter them correctly into the POS system. Process cash, credit card, mobile, and other accepted payment methods accurately. Handle cash responsibly and provide correct change when necessary. Learn the JODA Coffee menu, including beverages, food items, ingredients, sizes, and available customizations. Answer customer questions and make helpful menu recommendations. Clearly communicate modifications, allergies, and special requests to the beverage and food preparation teams. Confirm orders for accuracy before completing transactions. Help keep the ordering line moving efficiently during busy periods. Communicate with baristas and kitchen staff regarding order issues, unavailable items, or special requests. Manage pickup and order communication from the front counter when needed. Maintain a clean and organized register, POS station, and front counter. Keep menus, receipt paper, bags, cups, and other register-area supplies stocked. Monitor front-counter displays and communicate restocking needs to the appropriate team member. Handle customer concerns professionally and involve a Lead Barista or manager when necessary. Follow proper cash-handling, food safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures. Assist with register opening and closing procedures as assigned. Qualifications & Experience Previous cashier, retail, café, restaurant, or customer service experience is preferred but not required. Strong communication and customer service skills. Friendly, approachable, and comfortable interacting with a wide variety of guests. Strong attention to detail and order accuracy. Ability to learn the menu and confidently explain products and ingredients. Comfortable using a POS system and processing different forms of payment. Basic math skills for cash handling and making change. Ability to remain organized and efficient during high-volume periods. Ability to communicate clearly with baristas, kitchen staff, and management. Dependable, punctual, and professional. Willingness to learn and accept feedback.
