Job Description

Summary:
Responsible for first line supervision of operations as well as front and back of the store employees to ensure restaurants run smoothly. Assists the general manager with their job duties to ensure restaurant success. Most shifts will start on or after 11am daily; however, the training schedule may vary during the first week of employment and Shift Lead may be asked to assist with earlier shifts as needed.

FLSA Classification:
Non-exempt Duties and Responsibilities Act as the leader and first line of support for all front of the house and back of the house employee questions Supervise team members and restaurant operations for shifts after 11am Help fill in for employees' who are late or fail to show up for shifts to ensure production and customer service needs are met Monitor and manage store inventory to be sure that the restaurant is fully equipped to meet business needs Handle customer service concerns to help drive customer satisfaction Monitor front of the house and back of the house operations to make sure that all processes meet company standards and employees are completing necessary duties based on their positions Report business and employee related concerns to the general manager Assign cash drawers at opening and reconcile closing as well as verifying deposits Maintain cleanliness of restaurant dining areas and restrooms Ensure price changes and coupon drives are communicated to team members and actively displayed on menus and signage Have a basic knowledge of Texas Department of Health and Safety regulations regarding retail food establishments Setting good examples and outlining expectations Apply safety rules to ensure team members are safely completing operations and procedures in the restaurant and the location is remaining compliant with industry standards Complete other related tasks as reasonably assigned by other Managers To ensure the effectiveness of all store operations, you should work a variety of schedules including open, mid shifts & closings while also working random weekend days Obtain a valid Food Manager Certification Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required in addition to the tasks above. Education/Experience High school diploma and/or culinary institute certification preferred. Two or more years of experience in the restaurant industry. Language Ability Ability to read, write, and apply written and verbal instructions in English. Ability to effectively communicate and present information and respond to customer, employee, and vendor questions in English. Math Ability Basic to intermediate math skills are required. Must be able to do math with basic cash transactions, apply coupons, inventory/planning calculations, and recipe calculations. Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, analyze, and draw valid conclusions for business and employee matters. Ability to both receive and give a variety of instructions in oral, written or diagram form. Ability to analyze and help with staffing coverage. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer and cash register knowledge. (NCR, Synergy Suites) Management Responsibilities Directly supervise employee on various restaurant procedures and processes. Responsibilities include interviewing, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work. May also be involved in, disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving customer concerns. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands; reach with hands or arms, talk and or hear for six or more hours. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color recognition, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment The work environment is fast paced and has a moderate to loud noise level.
