Job Description

Overview We are seeking a friendly, creative, and crafty type persons to provide customer interface and instruction in our new Paint Your Own Pottery Parlour and be an essential team member of our new pottery studio. This is a part time position of up to 15 hours per week. The duties of a Floor Artist/Cashier (FA/C) will include serving all patrons of the Pottery Parlour by assisting them in bisque item selection, checkout, glaze selection, glaze pouring, communicating general studio operation policy for brushes, pallets, and cleanup, and giving instruction as requested in special techniques. As the primary knowledgeable sales interface between the customer and CCC products, FA/C will be trained in pottery-painting, handbuilding, mosaic, jewelry-making, and throwing. Operate the Point-of-Sale electronic equipment to transact sale of CCC originals, clay, glaze, classes, memberships, and all retail items. At various intervals upon request, FA/C will conduct inventory counts, print reports, and make corrections with this system. Routinely clean floors, tables, commodes, sinks, clay traps, tools, workstations, countertops, merchandise, displays, windows, storage areas in all areas of CCC including the Parlour, Wet Clay area, Jewelry Room, Entry, bathrooms, office, and kiln room. Prepare studio areas for classes, including measuring clay and gathering required tools and lesson plans. Check-in, unwrap, display, manage and dispose of shipping materials, and rearrange retail merchandise as inventory sells and renews. FA/C may build or assemble retail display units. Follow the established CCC system to organize painted bisque, unfired student work, and production work for kiln firing. Kiln loading, unloading, and programming training will be given. Complete pottery production assignments according to written guidelines as assigned by management. Qualifications High School Graduate at least 18 years old Able to lift 50 pounds Previous experience in Customer Service Art, crafting, or baking experience helpful.
