Job Summary Tides Coastal Kitchen is seeking a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented Cashier to join the hospitality team. The ideal candidate will welcome guests, accurately process food and beverage orders, operate the POS system, handle payments, maintain an organized cashier area, and support smooth restaurant operations during busy service periods. Key Responsibilities Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service. Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently. Operate the POS system and enter orders correctly. Process cash, card, and other payment transactions accurately. Provide guests with receipts and assist with basic payment questions. Answer questions about menu items and available options. Coordinate with kitchen and service team members to ensure order accuracy. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming cashier and counter area. Restock menus, receipts, packaging, condiments, and other front-of-house supplies. Assist with takeout and pickup orders as needed. Monitor order tickets and help ensure orders are communicated correctly. Handle guest requests and concerns in a polite and professional manner. Follow restaurant policies, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures. Assist with opening, closing, and daily cashier duties. Support team members during busy service periods. Perform additional responsibilities assigned by management. Requirements Previous cashier, restaurant, retail, hospitality, or food-service experience is preferred but not required. Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Basic cash-handling and POS knowledge is a plus. Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Strong attention to detail and order accuracy. Ability to follow instructions and established procedures. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine physical tasks. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Skills Previous restaurant cashier or front-of-house experience. Experience using POS systems and processing payments. Strong guest-service and communication skills. Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy. Good organization and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively with kitchen and service teams.
