Overview We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Cashier to join our team in a fast-paced retail environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and a passion for providing excellent customer service. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for managing transactions, assisting customers with their purchases, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Your role will be crucial in maintaining the efficiency of our grocery store operations. One weekend shift required. Responsibilities Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently. Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing any concerns. Assist with product demonstrations and upselling items to enhance the shopping experience. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area while ensuring all merchandise is properly stocked and displayed. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations, including supervising junior staff when necessary. Utilize retail math skills to manage transactions and assist with inventory management as needed. Demonstrate effective phone etiquette when handling customer inquiries or concerns over the phone. Requirements Previous experience in cashiering or retail sales is preferred, particularly in a grocery store setting. Strong basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and cash handling. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with customers. Experience in merchandising, stocking, and product demos is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being capable of supervising others when required. A positive attitude with a focus on providing outstanding customer service in every interaction.
