Pet Supply & Wellness Associate Animology | Olympia, WA At Animology, we believe pet stores should be more than shelves and cash registers. We're looking for a driven, outgoing, animal-loving team member who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and genuinely enjoys connecting with people. This role is ideal for someone who loves learning, takes pride in helping others, and wants to grow within the pet industry. What You'll Do Create a welcoming, educational, and positive experience for every client who visits Animology Engage with dog and cat owners to learn about their pets and recommend products and solutions tailored to their needs Help drive sales growth through genuine conversations, relationship-building, and product education Learn about pet nutrition, supplements, treats, enrichment, grooming products, and holistic wellness solutions Accurately process transactions, returns, exchanges, and loyalty accounts at the register Assist with opening and closing responsibilities, including balancing registers and securing the store Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor Receive inventory, rotate stock, restock shelves, and maintain accurate product displays Assist clients with carrying products, loading heavy bags, and locating items throughout the store Support team communication through positivity, accountability, and constructive feedback Help maintain store security and uphold company policies and procedures Work collaboratively across departments, including retail, grooming, and self-wash What We're Looking For Someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and talking about pets A motivated self-starter who can stay productive without constant supervision Strong communication skills and a positive attitude Comfortable working in a physically active retail environment Ability to multitask and stay calm during busy periods Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to jump in where needed Dependable attendance and punctuality Open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Required Qualifications Must be 18 years or older Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds consistently High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Comfortable using computers, POS systems, calculators, and basic math skills Ability to stay on your feet for extended periods Comfortable learning new systems and technology Reliable transportation preferred Ideal Traits Passion for pet health, nutrition, and wellness Naturally welcoming and energetic personality Strong personal accountability and follow-through Good judgment and professionalism Adaptable in a fast-changing retail environment Desire to grow long-term within the company and the pet industry Why Animology?
