Job Description

St. Vincent de Paul - Oconomowoc location is looking for Cashiers. Weekend availability is required. The cashier position pays $15.50/hr. Monday - Friday and $16.50/hr. on Saturday & Sunday. The Cashier is responsible for processing cash, debit, credit, and check transactions using a cash register or other point-of-sale system in a retail environment. Responsible for the operation of the cash register including ringing-up of purchases, handling cash, checks, and credit card sales, and providing correct change. Responsible for the accuracy of cash register entries; no excess overages/shortages Responsible for maintaining excellent and courteous relations with customers in the retail store and for providing good customer service. Responsible for assisting in the departmentalized stocking of the retail store from direct donations and for assuring store orderliness. Responsible for keeping display fixtures neat and orderly. Collecting carts and ensuring the store is clean and public areas such as bathrooms are cleaned and stocked. Accurately schedule furniture deliveries as needed. Answering phone and providing information as needed. Cross train in other departments as needed. Complete all assigned training and attend all mandatory meetings. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Ability to communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative, and pleasant manner. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments. Ability to use all Store equipment, including phones, registers and PC as required. Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store. Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop. Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds. Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies. Flexibility to adapt and change duties as needed by the store management.
