Job Description
SUMMARY Position selling General Store Inventory to the public. Obtaining payment for goods sold. Working cash register and balancing daily receipts. A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity.
Greeting customers and determining their needs.
Checking in all new merchandise, stocking shelves, arranging windows and other displays throughout the store.
Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of store inventory.
Observing scheduled work times.
Conducting physical inventories when needed.
Handling problem customers in a respectful manner.
Cross-training to help in other outlets as needed.
Directing customers to the appropriate merchandise, providing them with adequate information to make a satisfactory purchase.
Accepting payment efficiently, with courtesy and diplomacy, entering the appropriate form of payment in the cash register, counting change properly, and verifying any credit card transactions.
Balancing the cash register by counting the cash drawer at both the beginning and the end of the work shift following current policies and procedures.
Flexible working hours. Some job sharing may be required.
Verifying age when selling alcohol or tobacco.
Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resort's Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals.
Operate equipment safely so that it will not lead to injury to yourself or others.
Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies.
Knowledgeable and skillful at running a cash register.
Previous cash handling experience and guest service required.
Excellent communication skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY
Protect the safety of self, workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests.Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities with staff.WORK SCHEDULE
Due to the nature of the food and beverage industry, we are in operation seven days a week. This includes weekends and holidays, and there is no guarantee of hours. Flexible working hours may be required based on business levels. EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED preferred. Prior barista experience preferred. Three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.QUALIFICATIONS
