7:00 PM to 7:30
AM Summary :
Provides remote continuous observation of multiple patients at risk for safety. Navigates and retrieves information from the electronic medical record. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to provide exemplary customer service and demonstrate consistent use of EMMC Caring Behaviors. Able to work closely with all members of the healthcare team. Ability to concentrate in a busy environment.
Responsibilities :
  • Notifies members of clinical care team of any change in patient's condition or attempts to harm self.
  • Monitors patients continuously, always keeping patients in full view.
  • Remains alert and observes patients during their assigned shift. Arranges coverage for patients when needs to leave room.
  • Monitors patient safety.
  • Utilizes respectful verbal cues to elicit patient cooperation. Participates in general conversation or other distraction activities if desired by patient.
  • Maintains a safe environment complying with NLH policies and procedures; reports and directly addresses environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed.
  • May perform other duties upon request.
  • Precepts team members to job function. Precepts team members to the computerized information system. SERVICE
  • Communicates patient concerns to oncoming staff at change of shift.
  • Notifying nurse to correct poor quality monitoring.
  • Document patient status every 1 hour.
  • Demonstrates problem solving skills by using appropriate chain of command and following through on problems that may compromise patient care.
  • Demonstrates correct technique in the use of equipment.
