Full Job Description Role:
Voter Contact Field Director Who We Are:
Vote Blue is a field firm specializing in face-to-face canvassing operations. At Vote Blue, we mobilize voters to get to the polls. Our field campaigns have provided the margin of victory in close elections at the local, state, and national levels. Trump and Republicans at all levels of government are stomping on our rights, making everything unaffordable so a few billionaires can get even richer, and dismantling the very fabric of our nation. Vote Blue's sole focus is on mobilizing and engaging voters to participate in the elections this fall and fight back at the ballot box.
Locations:
AZ-06 (Tucson) , MI-07 Lansing, WI-03 La Crosse, and PA-10 Harrisburg Preference for local candidates
Timeline:
Starts beginning of September for the midterm campaign cycle
Canvass Management Responsibilities:
Manage a team of 15-20 hourly staff who will canvass door to door to talk to voters about defending reproductive rights. Canvass yourself several days a week to train staff and drive office goals Set goals and hold staff accountable to them Train and provide ongoing motivation and support to staff Identify, promote, and train a leadership team Build a diverse team where staff feel respected while fostering a culture of equity and justice Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity of the work Maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all staff Develop strategic plans to reach targeted voters in assigned locations Manage administrative duties, including reporting data, record keeping, processing payroll, and distribution of materials
Qualifications:
Must Have:
Leadership experience; ability to motivate, grow, and manage a large team Eagerness to lead from the front and canvass several days a week Extreme attention to detail and a proven ability to instill that quality in others Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills Strong passion for community organizing and fostering civic engagement Track record of equity and inclusion Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends Nice to
Have:
Experience running paid canvasses or managing paid employees Familiarity with VAN and MiniVAN Experience working in underserved or marginalized communities Facilitation experience Local knowledge/experience
Salary:
The salary range for this position is $1,146 - $1,500 per week. Pay within this range is determined through an equity calculator. Salary negotiations can introduce bias and perpetuate wage inequality. At the end of the campaign, there may be opportunities for advancement. We do offer a monthly cell phone stipend of $50. We offer a generous benefits package, including paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance, and hands-on training.
