$22-$24/hour Salary range listed is a good-faith estimate of the pay range WFJ reasonably expects to pay for this position upon hire.

Organization Description:
United for Water Justice (UWJ) is a Political Action Committee (PAC) formed to turn out hard-to-reach rural Central Valley voters for progressive water champions at the local, state and federal levels.
Position Description:
United Water for Justice Canvasser is a temporary, part-time, non-exempt, hourly position responsible for engaging with Kern County voters on drinking water issues and mobilizing them to vote for progressive candidates who will prioritize drinking water solutions. This position will be primarily contacting voters through door-to-door knocking and phone banking. The position will report to the Field Director and Team Leads. Major Responsibilities
  • Community outreach efforts: conduct phone banking and door-to-door campaign to encourage voter engagement and participation
  • Training and development: actively participate in daily script training, skill-building activities, and team-building sessions. Support peers with troubleshooting scripts, messaging and canvassing challenges.
Voter Engagement:
engage with voters in a professional, respectful and culturally sensitive manner, ensuring clear communication and positive interaction
    Daily Assignments and Goals:
    review daily assignments at the start of each shift and work to meet or exceed assigned target goals
      Reporting and Data Entry:
      complete detailed daily reports, timesheets and mileage reports, and accurately input collected data into tracking systems Required Qualifications
      • Bilingual- fluency in English and Spanish
      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with diverse communities and stakeholders
      • Comfortable using laptops, tablets and keyboard for basic typing and navigation
      • Ability to enter information accurately into spreadsheets and online forms
      • Ability to use phone banking software, voter databases and mobile applications
      • Attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and reporting
      • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
      • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends to meet campaign goals
      • Ability to travel to/from Visalia, CA office
      • Ability to work outdoors and walk up to 6 hours a day. Preferred Qualifications
      • Knowledge of environmental justice, civic engagement and grassroots power building a plus
      • Passion for social and environmental justice, community empowerment, and equitable
      • decision-making processes.
      • Strong Communication skills - interpersonal, in large groups, on complex topics such as politics and voting. Comfortable talking to someone about politics and voting
      • Ability to travel to outreach events, within communities
      • California driver's license, valid insurance and safe driving record
      • A 4-5 seat passenger
      • 18 years of age or older Physical and Travel Requirements
      • This position requires the ability to travel and participate in outreach and community / public engagement activities as needed.
      • The role involves long periods of walking and carrying/pushing/pulling/lifting materials of up to 20 lbs and exposure to outdoor environments Starting date :
