Organization Description:
United for Water Justice (UWJ) is a Political Action Committee (PAC) formed to turn out hard-to-reach rural Central Valley voters for progressive water champions at the local, state and federal levels.
Position Description:
United for Water Justice (UWJ) is a temporary, part-time, non-exempt, hourly employee position primarily responsible for overseeing a team that works with voters in the Central Valley on drinking water issues and registering new voters. This position will help manage the team and ensure the team has all tools for successful shifts. The position is part-time (approximately 25-30 hours per week) and will report to the Field Director. Major Responsibilities
  • Manage team on day to day operations.
  • Lead debriefs and role playing activities
  • Actively participate in planning orientation, role-plays, daily script training, and support with troubleshooting
  • Perform quality control
  • Ensure team has tools to meet daily target goals
  • Work on detailed end of shift reports
  • Data tracking daily
  • Set up and clean up tabling events
  • Provide support as needed such as set up and clean up office Required Qualifications
  • Skills/traits ○ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with diverse working personalities ○ Attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and reporting ○ Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment ○ Goal-oriented to achieve daily goals
  • Schedule ○ Flexible schedule as shift dates are subject to change. ○ Availability to work is required starting the week of August 1st ○ Must be available to work weekends.
  • Language ○ Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
  • Transportation ○ Ability to travel to/from Bakersfield, CA office ○ A valid driver's license and insurance may be required
Physical Requirements:
○ Ability to perform physical activities including sitting for long periods at a time ○ Must be able to lift/push/pull/carry up to 20lbs ○ Must be able to stand/walk/bend frequently throughout the day Preferred Qualifications
  • Regular access to a 4-5 seat passenger car
  • 18 years of age or older
  • 1 year of door-to-door management experience or minimum 2 campaign experience
  • Comfortable using technology such as cell phone and or tablets to perform work duties Daily Starting date:
