Job Description

Face-to-Face Fundraiser / Canvasser - $20/hr Guaranteed + Bonuses - Los Angeles $20/hr guaranteed + bonuses | 21-35 hours/week | Flexible schedules Looking for work that pays reliably, keeps you moving, and leaves room for the rest of your life? We're hiring outgoing, creative, and personable people to join our Los Angeles team as Face-to-Face Fundraisers / Canvassers . You'll represent major nonprofit organizations working on humanitarian aid, environmental protection, human rights, LGBTQIA+ equality, social justice, and other important causes. This role is especially popular with actors, comedians, musicians, dancers, writers, and other creatives because it offers stable hourly income, flexible scheduling, and the chance to use skills that often come naturally to performers: storytelling, improvisation, reading a room, staying present, and connecting with new people. You definitely do not need to be a performer. We're simply looking for people who are interesting, expressive, curious, and comfortable starting conversations . If you're social, energetic, and looking for meaningful work that can fit alongside the other things that matter to you, you might be a great fit.
Fair warning:
this is not a desk job. You'll spend most of your shift outdoors, walking or standing, talking with members of the public, hearing "no," and working toward fundraising goals. It can be active, challenging, and incredibly rewarding. What You'll Do As a fundraiser, you'll work in community spaces and neighborhoods throughout Los Angeles, speaking with people face-to-face about the work of one of our nonprofit partners.
You will:
Start conversations with members of the public Share meaningful stories about the nonprofit campaign you represent Explain how monthly donations create long-term impact Invite people to become monthly supporters Work alongside an energetic and supportive team Receive regular coaching to strengthen your communication and fundraising skills Every conversation is different, so this role gives you plenty of room to bring your own personality, creativity, and communication style to the work. Pay and Benefits $20/hour guaranteed starting pay - not commission Performance bonus opportunities Paid training from your first day Regular pay reviews and performance-based raises Health, dental, and vision benefits for eligible full-time employees and their families after 3 months Paid time off Employee Assistance Program Opportunities to develop into coaching and leadership roles Work supporting major humanitarian, environmental, and social justice organizations Public Outreach believes strongly in promoting from within.
